Injection molding in Moffat County is a new breed of cat, a welcome diversification in the valley that will continue to broaden our collective economic base  while providing technical training opportunities for local workers of all ages.

      Dedicated and benevolent local and front range individuals have been very helpful in the acquisition and delivery of the valleys first injection molding machine.  An LK- 90 ton machine is in the process of coming into service at West Portal Industries.

      While West Portal Industries has found itself extremely busy with both, its light manufacturing and Sub assembly obligations, other projects are moving forward that involve injection molding.  The acquisition of another injection molding machine is in the works.  Capable of pressing 2oz. of plastic with each shot, It will function brilliantly for testing and for production of the smallest of projects.

      West Portal’s 3d printing technologies, through fusion 360 software will work hand in hand with CNC milling equipment to build and modify the tools for production.
